Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your first bet.

Is MyMiniBet really free?

Yes, for the organizer and for everyone who joins: nothing to pay to create a bet or to make a prediction, and no money is ever at stake. The site may later show ads on the guides, never on a bet’s page. Need inspiration to get started? Here are some fun bet ideas for friends.

Do I need an account or an app?

No. No account, no email, no password and nothing to install: MyMiniBet opens right in your phone’s browser. Participants only type a first name or a nickname, and creating a bet takes about 20 seconds.

How do I invite my friends?

Once your bet is created, use the share buttons: WhatsApp, Snapchat, text message, copy link, QR code or your phone’s share menu. The link shows a preview with your question, and your friends just open it to make their prediction. The QR code is handy at a party, bachelor or bachelorette party or wedding: everyone scans it with their phone. Don’t post the link on public social media: anyone with the link can take part.

How is the winner decided?

For a Yes / No or Choice bet, everyone with the exact answer wins, and the losers do the dare. For a Number or Date bet, the closest answer wins, and whoever is furthest off does the dare. A classic example: the number of goals in a match, a favorite in football prediction games with friends.

Who announces the result?

The organizer, with their secret organizer link: on the big day, they enter the real result and the site shows the winners, with confetti and a verdict card to share as a story. The organizer can also close predictions early, delete the bet, and make a prediction like everyone else.

What if the organizer forgets the result or loses the organizer link?

Since there is no account, the organizer link cannot be recovered: keep it safe, for example by sending it to yourself on WhatsApp. On the phone that created the bet, you will also find it in My bets. Without that link nobody can announce the result, but the bet stays visible to participants, with all the predictions once predictions have closed.

Can I change my prediction?

Yes, as long as predictions are open: open the link again on the same phone and change your answer, or withdraw it. It’s one prediction per phone. Once predictions close, nobody can bet or change their mind.

Can others see my answer?

Not before predictions close: people only see the first names of those who have made a prediction, not their answers. When predictions close, all predictions are revealed at once. So nobody can copy anyone else, even with just two players, as in our bets for couples.

Is it legal? Is it gambling?

It’s not gambling: there is no stake, no payment to bet, no winnings and no prize offered by the site. The only thing at stake is a dare chosen by friends, or bragging rights. Our guide to betting without money explains why it’s more fun, and what the law says.

What dare should we pick?

When you create a bet, pick a dare from our safe ideas, write your own (100 characters max) or play just for bragging rights. For more inspiration, see our funny, safe dare ideas. Keep dares safe, respectful and money-free.

How many people can take part?

Up to 100 participants per bet: enough for a whole family, a group of friends or an entire department. For ideas to launch with coworkers, see our office pool guide.

How long does a bet stay online?

A bet and its predictions are deleted automatically 1 year after predictions close; a bet that received no prediction is deleted 60 days after predictions close. The organizer can also delete it at any time with the organizer link. All the details are in the privacy policy.

What is the friends league?

From a bet, the Launch another bet with the same group button gathers your bets into a league, with a ranking by first name: 1 point per bet won. Use the same first name every time to keep your points. Perfect for a football prediction game over a whole season, or to find out who has the best instincts in the group.

Can I run a baby pool?

Yes: start from the birth date, baby’s weight or boy or girl template, then send the link to family and friends. For the date and the weight, the closest answer wins. All our ideas are in the baby pool guide.
